MANILA — The First Asia-Pacific Family Peace Leadership Conference ended tremendously successful on Sunday (July 21) at the historic Manila Hotel.
In her recapitulation, Taguig City University Graduate School Dean Dr. Amalia C. Rosales said “It was a profound and transformative gathering which brought together more than 700 participants from the Asia-Pacific countries with diverse culture, values and tradition.”
Dr. Ortiz delivered the welcome remarks and noted the primordial importance of world peace and unity.
Hon. Shinha Moon, International Vice President of the FPA was introduced by Bulacan Polytechnic College (BPC) President Dr. Janet R. Valdez.
Moon’s speech was a call to action.
Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Emeritus Antonio J. Ledesma led the Interfaith Plenary with the theme: “Interfaith Leaders the Way to Building the New Civilization of One Family Under God”.
The Women’s Plenary Roundtable was with the theme: “Women’s Active Role in Building a God-centered Family and Society”.

Dr. Michael G. Zablan, Conference Co-Chair, Regional Chairman of the Family Peace Association Asia-Pacific, and International Visiting Professor of the Royal Institution Singapore, led the recognition and awarding of the following:
Service for Peace, Foundation of Handicapped Center Lourdes and Partner Universities, Bayanihan Youth for Peace, New Civilization Network–PUP students, BPC, Quezon City University — Dr. Atienza, St. Clare College — Dr. Adalem, the Philippine Red Cross — Dr. Ortiz, the Catholic Women’s League of the Philippines Inc., Commission on Higher Education Region 3 (Central Luzon), Federation of Associations of Private School Administrators, and Royal Institution Singapore were all recognized and awarded with plaque of appreciation.
The officials of the international headquarters of the FPA led by International President Jinman Kwak were recognized.
The FPA Korea, FPA Japan, FPA Taiwan, FPA Thailand, FPA Nepal, FPA Mongolia, and FPA India were also recognized.
Among others, awarded were BPC President Dr. Janet Valdez, Conference Co-Chair Dr. Leonida Bayani Ortiz, and Conference Chair Dr. Samuel M. Salvador.
In the call to action, the following Four Family Peace Association Philippines’ Divisions were formally launched:
FPA Youth headed by Jason Villacin, FPA Educators headed by Dr. Janet Valdez, FPA Women headed by Dr. Leonida Bayani Ortiz with Dr. Amalia Rosales, and FPA Interfaith headed by Archbishop Antonio J. Ledesma.
The Four-Division FPA Philippines was launched to substantiate the output of the conference to be submitted to the international bodies.
The most important output of the conference is the inclusion of the principle of “New Civilization of One Family Under God” in the world’s policy-making bodies.
Dr. Zablan said “the delegates come together to forge the resolution of an urgent call to share our love, our talent and our skills.”
He thanked Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Domalanta, Dr. Janet Valdez, Archbishop Antonio Ledesma and Dr. Rosales.
The convenors, co-convenors, and the more than 700 participants signed in the resolution.
A petition for the inclusion of the principle of “New Civilization of One Family Under God” will be submitted to world policy-making bodies.
“It is in line with the United Nations principle of international peace and sustainable development worldwide. It is also proposed to include the principle of ‘New Civilization of One Family Under God’ in all levels of the private and public schools,” Dr. Zablan said.
“Education should yield relationship by strengthening family bonds and collaboration. Education should instill a sense of responsibility towards national development through social responsibility,” he added.
“We advocate for policies and programs that support communities. We urge the United Nations to support interfaith dialogue and the ‘New Civilization of One Family under God’ principle as the United Nations plays a critical role in promoting peace,” Dr. Zablan said.
“We call upon the United Nations to take a concrete action to incorporate the principle of ‘New Civilization of One Family Under God’ advocating gender equality'” he added.
The petition was signed by Dr. Salvador, Dr. Zablan, Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Domalanta, Dr. Clarita Adalem, Dr. Amalia Rosales and Dr. Janet Valdez.
The resolution was turned over to the FPA Thailand.
It will be turned over to the headquarters of the FPA in Bangkok, Thailand.
The highlights of the three-day conference were shown through an audio visual presentation.
The conference was just a series of steps to achieve world peace and unity.
The second conference will be held in Bangkok, Thailand next year.
Dr. Salvador and Dr. Zablan turned over the emblem or conference flag to Thailand
for the Second Asia-Pacific Family Peace Leadership Conference in 2025.
Dr. Samuel M. Salvador, in his closing remarks, said “Wow na Wow!”
“Thank you God for giving us the courage to undertake the First Asia-Pacific Family Peace Leadership Conference with the theme: “The Essence of the of One Family Under God: A Platform of World Peace for a New Civilization”, Dr. Salvador said.
He thanked the founder’s family, the Secretariat headed by Dr. Rosales, the Appcore headed by Randy Sagun, conference director Dr. Christine Viray, Dr. Joseph Reyland Viray–who was responsible for the crafting of the resolution to be submitted to the United Nations, to the section directors, sponsors, the NCN director, editors, and Dr. Hon. Michael Zablan for his effective and efficient leadership.
Dr. Hyun Jin Moon and his better half gave his all support through Dr. Kim.
“Thank you to the keynote speaker Dr. Shinha Moon and her better half,” Dr. Salvador said.
“With the power and authority vested on me as Chair of the First Asia-Pacific Family Peace Leadership Conference, the Conference is hereby declared closed,” Dr. Salvador said.
“One Family Under God. Adieu!” the more than 700-strong participants shouted.
Javee Decena sang the solidarity song of the First Asia-Pacific Family Peace Leadership Conference, “Let There Be Peace”.
