QUEZON CITY — DHSUD Sec. Jose Rizalino Acuzar on Tuesday night (Dec. 17) said that 2.5 million to 3 million housing units will be built by 2028.
Acuzar said that Director Mario Mallari loves the media very much.
“Just approach him to have a housing unit,” he said.
Acuzar stressed that they already built 160,000 housing units all over the country.
“In 3-4 years, 2.5 to 3 million housing units will be constructed by 2028 in-city dwellings,” he said.
“Imagine that we are able to construct 160,000 housing units without GAA (General Apropriations Act). If with GAA, it would cost almost P200 billion,” he added.
Acuzar noted that affordability and accessibility are the formula and with the government’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH), only P2,150 is the monthly amortization.
The private fund provides 6% and the government provides only 1%.
“Sana tulungan nyo po kami kung paano pa mapaoarami ang pabahay,” Acuzar said.
“Kung mayroon pong mali, makikinig po kami,” he added.
During the 2024 DHSUD Media Forum, Usec. Avelino Tolentino III said that they just came from DMW (Department of Migrant Workers) event in Malacanang Palace on Pamaskong Handog of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. to OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers).
“We express our deepest gratitude to the media for your unwavering support in helping us widening the news and information about the administration’s housing program,” Tolentino said.
“We take as feedback some negative information shared by the media to the public,” he added.
