SM malls in Marilao and Baliwag recently hosted the biggest gathering of at least 215 young spellers from different parts of Bulacan in a highly anticipated Spelling Bee competition.
With a vision to boost literacy and support young Filipinos by revitalizing their love for spelling, the competition featured participants aged 9 to 11 from both public and private schools in Bulacan.
Representing Dolores Academy of Marilao, Charles Roland L. Nacario was declared elimination round champion out of the 109 participants in SM City Marilao. While Sage Antonia G. Ayroso of MAYI Montessori School emerged victorious against 106 spellers in SM City Baliwag.
Nacario and Ayroso each received over Php 20,000 worth of prizes from SM Supermalls, Jollibee, and National Book Store, and are both advancing to the Grand Finals at SM Mall of Asia, where they can win up to Php50,000 in cash and SM Gift Certificates, Php150,000 in National Book Store Gift Certificates, Php10,000 in Jollibee Gift Certificates, a new laptop from Power Mac Center, and discounts on school tuition from the National University (NU). — PR
