TAGUIG CITY — The St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) Bonifacio Global City (BGC) has launched here its first Center for Comprehensive Breast Care (CCBC).
Dr. Dennis P. Serrano, SLMC President & CEO, said “today is not only a special day for the SLMC but for all our patients.”
Dr. Serrano noted “one Center is launched here in Taguig City and the second Center is launched in Quezon City.”
“Breast health is more than a screening — it’s a journey that deserves understanding, expertise, and compassion at every stage,” he said.
“There are 30,000 breast cancer cases each year and 10,000 deaths each year,” Dr. Serrano said.
“Survival from breast cancer is as high as 90%,” he added.
“The Center for Comprehensive Breast Care serves as a beacon and brings hope for better survival where Science can be empathy,” Dr. Serrano said.
“And eventually, for you to stand as beacon of hope not only for the patients but for their families,” he added.
“Breast cancer is something that can be treated that will bring hope to the patients and their families,” Dr. Serrano said.
“Let’s work for the patients and for the nation,” he added.
Dr. Emma Uy, Director of the Center, thanked Dr. Serrano and the staff of the SLMC for their steadfast support and cooperation.
“Our Center, both here and in Quezon City, are the first of its kind in the country,” Dr. Uy said.
“The realization of this proposal took some time,” she added.
Dr. Uy also thanked the administration for coming up with the medical packages so that it will be affordable for the patients.
She stressed that the Center will officially start operations next week.
Dr. Marites Guevarra is the Medical Oncologist of the Center.
Driven by its vision to provide world-class and holistic healthcare, the SLMC launched its CCBC in Global City and Quezon City.
The CCBC is designed to accompany patients through the full spectrum of breast health — from early detection and diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery.
It houses a multidisciplinary team of specialists working in harmony to provide seamless, coordinated care.
Among its comprehensive services are highly specialized breast imaging, biopsy procedures, pathology, surgical and medical oncology, radiation therapy, and rehabilitation programs, along with psycho-oncology and high-risk clinics, clinical trials, patient education, and support.
By integrating these services within one cohesive program, SLMC ensures that every patient’s medical and emotional needs are met with precision and compassion.
Through the launch of the CCBC, the SLMC strengthens its role as a leader in patient-centered innovation — advancing not only the science of medicine but also the art of compassionate healing.
At SLMC, care extends beyond clinical treatment — it embraces empowerment, education, and continuous support for patients and their families.
Each patient’s journey is guided by a dedicated team that recognizes the emotional resilience and courage behind every story. ###
