QUEZON CITY – Mayor Joy Belmonte on Thursday (May 22) urged the residents of Quezon City and elsewhere to join and participate in the May 29-June 1 gaming convention to be hosted by the Quezon City Government.
In a press conference, Mayor Belmonte said that 5,000 people from Quezon City and other areas have already registered for the All aBoard Expo 2025 to be held at the MICE Center from May 29 to June 1, 2025.


Belmonte added that Quezon City has been hosting events that accommodated thousands of participants from the city and the adjoining areas for the past several years.
She stressed that the city government is ready and prepared to host the gaming convention, noting that security preparations are also being taken into consideration.
She cited that the Pride Festival last year has generated a total of 225,000 participants held inside the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC), saying that this year’s Pride Festival may be held outside of QMC.
Mayor Belmonte also cited that the City Government has just concluded a three-day convention on gaming addiction and gadget addiction.
She stressed that the City Government is coordinating with the City School Board and the City Schools Division in order to encourage students, who are now on vacation, to join and participate in the gaming convention on May 29-June 1, 2025.
All aBOARD EXPO 2025 in partnership with the Quezon City Local Government held the press conference for the biggest board game convention in the Philippines with estimated attendees of 8,000 QCitizens and residents from in and outside Metro Manila, and support from international board game publishers and personalities.
Mayor Belmonte was overjoyed to show the Ticket to Ride play pieces given by Gaming Library CEO Hans Kenner Fernandez as token of appreciation in hosting the EXPO from May 29 to June 1 at the M.I.C.E (Meeting, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions) Center.
Fernandez said that Quezon City has surpassed Bangkok, Thailand in terms of the number of participants in board gaming.
He added that more than 104 board games will be offered and enjoyed by the youth and their respective families.
Also present during the press conference were Quezon City Tourism Department Acting Chief Operations Officer Giana Aira Barata; and City Administrator Michael Alimurung.
Alimuruing said that board gaming enhances critical thinking and mental health.
He added that the gaming convention from May 29 to June 1, 2025 is free admission for Quezon City residents and other participants. ###
