CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Rising above 17 other police regional offices across the country, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Social Media Team was recognized as the Best Social Media Team Nationwide during the culmination of the 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month held at Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.

The award was conferred in recognition of the team’s consistent and innovative efforts in leveraging social media to effectively communicate police programs, engage the public, and promote transparency and trust between the police and the community.

The PRO3 Social Media Team is led by PLTCOL Dexter C. Versola, Chief of the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO), under the dynamic leadership of PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr.

PBGEN PEÑONES JR. lauded the team’s dedication to modern policing through digital platforms, saying:

“This recognition is a testament to our commitment to build genuine connections with the public, online and offline. Our Social Media Team has become a digital frontliner in promoting peace, transparency, and community engagement, and I am proud of the professionalism and creativity they consistently bring to the service.”

He emphasized that PRO3’s online communication efforts are anchored on the principle of being Simple, Direct, and Impactful (SDI) — a core value in police-public relations that ensures information is not only accurate but also accessible and relevant to the communities they serve.

He added that social media plays a vital role in today’s law enforcement landscape, especially in combating misinformation, amplifying public safety reminders, and bridging the gap between the police and the community.

Throughout the year, the PRO3 Social Media Team has been at the forefront of timely and accurate information dissemination, crisis communication, and public relations initiatives in Central Luzon. Their efforts have notably contributed to enhancing public awareness and appreciation of the programs of the Philippine National Police.

As the nation celebrates the success of the 30th PCR Month with the theme “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka,” PRO3 affirms its continued commitment to harnessing the power of communication technology in building a safer, more informed, and more engaged citizenry. ###
