SAN JUAN CITY — Atty. Christian “Ian” De Guzman Sia is running as an Independent Congressman in the May 12, 2025 midterm national and local elections.
Atty. Ian Sia filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for Congressman of Pasig City on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at the Office of the Commission on Elections National Capital Region in San Juan City.
He was joined by his wife, friends and relatives in filing his COC.
In an interview, Atty. Sia said that he would seek for the creation of a second Congressional District for Pasig City, citing that Quezon City has six Congressional Districts and Manila also has six Congressional Districts.
Sia stressed that the more Congressional Districts would mean more allocations from the national government.
Atty. Sia had been a City Councilor of Pasig in 2010 and said that his experience in the legislative works in the City Council he will also bring in to the Halls of Congress.
Sia has a franchise of Mang Inasal in Pasig City which has a policy that the food not consumed for the day will just be disposed of as garbage.
Because of that policy, Sia said, he would have all the unconsumed foods collected and distributed to the hungry indigent Pasiguenos.
Atty. Ian Sia boasted that he is a native Pasigueno. His business is in Pasig. He has classmates, friends and relatives in Pasig, who will all support him in his Congressional bid.
He explained that dividing Pasig City into two Congressional Districts is not “Gerrymandering” as it is only applicable to two or more “non-contagious” territorial areas.
Atty. Sia stressed that if he is elected into office, Pasig City will be lucky to have a Congressman and a lawyer at the same time.
Sia has been extending pro bono legal assistance to indigent Pasiguenos as part of his advocacy.
He has been in the practice of law since 2005.
He signed in the “Wall of Commitment” vowing to ensure the conduct of a credible and peaceful elections.
