MARIKINA CITY — Congressman-elect Marcy Teodoro on Thursday (June 26) said “Democracy has prevailed” on the ruling of the Comelec En Banc paving the way for his proclamation.
“Democracy has prevailed. This is a victory for the people of Marikina,” Teodoro said.
“We have received notice that the COMELEC En Banc has officially granted the Consolidated Motions for Reconsideration filed on my behalf,” he added.
“This decision validates the legitimacy of my Certificate of Candidacy for Member of the House of Representatives for the First District of Marikina City,” Teodoro said.
“They found no material misrepresentation in my COC. It also found no abandonment of my domicile in the First District,” he added.
Teodoro stressed that his connection, familial, social and political, has always been rooted in Barangay San Roque.
He pointed out that he was able to clearly prove his actual and physical residency there.
” With this latest development, there is no more hindrance to my proclamation as the duly elected representative of our district,” Teodoro said.
“I welcome this decision. It affirms what we’ve believed from the beginning, that the voice of the people matters and should never be silenced,” he added.
Teodoro expounded that the people of Marikina have spoken.
“I am deeply grateful for your support, your trust, and your unwavering faith in me,” he said.
Teodoro propounded that the victory belongs to all of Marikenos.
“Let’s continue moving forward together for the city we love and serve,” Teodoro said.
“Maraming salamat, mga kapwa ko mamamayan ng Marikina,” he added. ###
