SANTA MARIA, Bulacan — Employees showcased ASEAN-inspired attire during the weekly flag-raising ceremony of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) on January 6, 2025.
District Engineer George Santos stated that the initiative aligns with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 16, Series of 2024, and Republic Act No. 9242, known as the “Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF) Law.”
“The CSC issuance requires government personnel to wear ASEAN-themed attire on the first Monday of each month and Filipiniana outfits on the remaining Mondays. As public servants, we are the face of government service. Adhering to the revised dress code is a simple but important step in maintaining professionalism and dignity in our office,” Santos said.
The updated dress code emphasizes professionalism, decency, and adherence to Filipino cultural norms in workplace attire, aiming to enhance public service delivery by projecting a polished and respectable image of government employees
