BALER, Aurora — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) commenced the construction of a flood control structure at the Dingalan Feeder Port.

The 355-linear meter infrastructure is located in barangay Paltic in Dingalan, Aurora.

District Engineer Roderick Andal said the old gabion retaining walls at Dingalan Port were damaged by strong typhoons and have deteriorated over the years.

“DPWH has allocated P47.53 million for the construction of new flood mitigation structures to complement the existing concrete seawall at the feeder port,” he disclosed.

Andal stressed that construction of structures that can help reduce flood impacts is among the main priorities of the agency.

He assured residents that they will speed up the work on this project. – Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu/PIA 3
