QUEZON CITY — Supporters of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) are set to conduct a unity ride and motorcade nationwide to celebrate his 80th Birthday on Friday (March 28) and call to bring him home to the Philippines.
During the Pandesal Forum on Thursday (March 27) at Kamuning Bakery Cafe hosted by Rod Cornejo, Ronald Cardema, Chairman of Duterte Youth Partylist, said that they organizing a big motorcade rally tomorrow, Friday, March 28 in Calamba City, the regional capital of Calabarzon.
“March 28 because it’s the 80th Birthday of former President Rodirigo Roa Duterte at 1 p.m. in Calamba City, the center of Southern Tagalog, specially Calabarzon dubbed “Calambenos for Duterte,’” Cardema said..
“We are expecting around 300,000 Duterte supporters to join the motorcade because the former president is a rider himself,” Cardema said.
Cardema denied that the former President flew to Hong Kong to seek for a political asylum.
He cited that there is a provision in the Rome Statute for “an interim release”, which he hoped will be applied to the former President.
According to Cardema, no candidates in the May 12 national and local elections will join the motorcade rally tomorrow.
“Everybody is welcome to join the FPRRD’s 80th Birthday-Unity Ride/Motorcade,” he said.
Cardema said that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. surrendered the former President to the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands noting that “if a life of a Filipino is surrendered to foreigners, you have surrendered the sovereignty of the country to another country.”
“You have surrendered the sovereignty of the country, if you surrendered a Filipino to the foreigners and Duterte is not only an ordinary citizen but a former President and there is not even a single case filed against him in the Philippines,” Cardema said.
He cited that the daughter of the former President — Vice President Sara Duterte was not even allowed to see her father before he was flown to The Hague, Netherlands on March 11, 2025.
“Tomorrow, we will show through motorcades and unity rides nationwide and in Calamba City at 1 p.m. for the ‘Calambenos for Duterte. Bring PRRD Home,” Cardema said.
Cardema noted that Duterte was aligned with the four warlords of Africa and another one connected with terrorists in America at the detention facility of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands.
“Please bring him home” was the call of the Duterte supporters.
Cardema said that the former President can at least be granted an “interim release”, adding that “an 80-year old man should be given a ‘humane treatment” or a house arrest.
He also does not believe that in less than five hours before the session at 3 p.m. of Feb. 5, 2025, the 215 Members of the House of Representatives have signed and read the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Duterte.
Cardema cited that the other day, the Kabataan Partylist went to the Comelec and claimed that the Duterte Youth Partylist was a fake partylist, when in fact, he said that they are the only ones who fought for President Duterte and they filed a House Bill seeking for death penalty for rapists and for other heinous crimes.
After 2019 elections, Marie Cardema was proclaimed as the duly-elected Duterte Youth Partylist and the Kabataan Partylist raised the question against the proclamation of Cardema, and within one month, the Supreme Court upheld the proclamation of Rep. Marie Cardema.
Ronald Cardema was the Chairman of the National Youth Commission (NYC) before and after their (Kabataan Partylist) 2019 petition and he was the Youth Minister representing the Philippines in the international conferences in Russia and China.
Cardema stressed that they will file a case next week against those who claimed that the Duterte Youth Partylist is fake partylist and not registered with the Comelec.
He said that the petitioners against the Duterte Youth Partylist remained silent for a decade, and a week before the March 28 start of the campaign for local candidates, they started to make a political noise.
“Everytime that the Comelec calls for a hearing, we are there. Everytime that the Comelec orders us to publish, we publish,” Cardema said.
He said that the Comelec approved the nominees of the Duterte Youth Partylist with nominees aged 28, 33 and 40, who are pro-military, pro-police and anti-NPA, which the petitioners claimed was “untruthful”.
“Dedebatehin ko kayo hanggang maubos kayo sa Kongreso,” was the speech of Cardema, which the petitioners claimed as “mass murder”.
The Duterte Youth Partylist was charged with “vote buying” when in fact, Cardema said, they don’t even have money to spend for campaign posters.
Cardema stressed the Chinese government said that Duterte did not file for political asylum to China, and because of that they will file a resolution before the House of Representatives seeking for an investigation in-aid-of legislation regarding the spread of fake news about the alleged asylum.
He stressed that the ratings of the Duterte Youth Partylist skyrocketed a few weeks before the May 12 elections, which prompted the Kabataan Partylist to revive their allegations six years ago such that the Duterte Youth Partlist was not registered with the Comelec.
Cardema and the Duterte Youth Partylist will file libel charges and two other appropriate charges before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office against the Kabataan Partylist for alleged “malicious statements” or “Haoshiao statements” published in the media and against the Duterte Youth Partylsit.
They will also file perjury charges, when applicable, against those who presented document which tended to be true.
Cardema and the Duterte Youth Partylist will sign in the petition to be filed before the ICC seeking the return to the Philippines of former President Duterte.
He noted that former Senator Gringo Honasan is a “baron” of PMA Class 1971, a Colonel, who revolted during the EDSA People Power Revolution (Feb. 22-25, 1986) against then President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. and against the NPA rebels.
Cardema urged the PDP-Laban to include Honasan in their Senatorial candidates as it has only nine senatoriables for the May 12 national elections.
He said that it does not matter whether they are only 2,000 rallying for Duterte, but they will continuously fight for the rights of the former President.
Cardema cited the convicted OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) who are in the death row where the Philippine government extends full support in order to bring them home, saying that the government made a mistake in arresting the former President and brought him to the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands for the alleged “crimes against humanity”. ###
