QUEZON CITY — Supporters and allies of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) on Friday (March 28) signed a
manifesto of sovereignty and justice for his return to the Philippines.
In a press conference at Kamuning Bakery Cafe, Bisaya Gyud Partylist First Nominee Greco Belgica said “We are defending the Constitution, sovereignty and freedom.
Bring Duterte home. We want Digong back. “
“We prayed for the unjust arrest and detention of FPRRD in The Hague, Netherlands,” he added.
Belgica stressed “we want to get as many Filipinos to sign the manifesto in the Philippines and worldwide.”
They are praying and are fully supporting FPRRD.
“Don’t surrender and we are praying for you. Thank you Mr. President for everything that you have done for us,” Belgica said.
Ret. Gen. Carlos Quita, 2nd Nominee of BG Partylist, said that there was a big violation here and there was no due process.
The former president was brought to Villamor Airbase, a military camp, so that he will be readily brought to the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands.
The Secretary of Justice distinguished sovereignty.
We have our own operating justice, although slow.
Belgica cited the Senate findings that the ICC has no more jurisdiction here, noting that the police would not take action without an order.
“It took one year before our withdrawal from the ICC took effect,” Belgica said.
“President Duterte should have been detained and tried here as guaranteed by the 1987 Constitution, but it was deprived from the former president,” he added.
Belgica stressed that it was very basic that the subject of the warrant of arrest should first be taken to a police precinct.
“It was a secret arrest warrant and we were all caught surprised,” Belgica said.
” Even if the government is saying that it was the option to surrender they used, it was still a violation of the Constitution,” he added.
Belgica clarified that not all countries are members of the ICC, such as the rich countries who do not recognize and acknowledge the jurisdiction of ICC.
He cited that 33 people are now indicted in the ICC, who are Africans, Muslims and Digong is the only Asian.
Belgica surmised that all of these are done by the Communists.
He said “If there is already a new Congress, let’s minimize the enormous power of the President”
“Why did you surrender the former President to the ICC? ,” Belgica asked President Marcos.
“Everything has its own proper time. Let’s first bring back home former President Duterte,” he added.
“The truth of the matter is that everything now is in the hands of the ICC,” Belgica said.
He also urged all other sovereign states to already intervene.
“There is nothing impossible in praying and to God,” Belgica said.
The Duterte supporters sang “Happy Birthday” to the former President. ###
