PASIG CITY — Media and vloggers assigned in the Eastern Police District (EPD) on Wednesday (Oct. 30) met and greeted EPD Officer-in-Charge Col. Villamor Q. Tuliao.
Present during the “meet and greet” were Pasig City Chief of Police (COP) Col. Hendrix B. Mangaldan, Mandaluyong City COP Col. Mary Grace R. Madayag, Marikina COP Col. Erwin T. Dayag, and San Juan City COP Col. Francis Allan M. Reglos, among others.
PNP LERIS (Law Enforcement Reporting Information System) was presented through an audio visual presentation.
In response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s directive to digitize government operations, the PNP LERIS and eReport were launched in Malacanang and in the NCRPO.
The NCRPO has 24,000 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel who are being monitored through the e-DPPAS (electronic District Police Personnel Attendance System).
The PaMaMariSan-Rizal Press Corps expressed its full support to Col. Tuliao in his campaign against all forms of criminality and for the dissemination of factual and reliable news emanating from the EPD.
The PNP vloggers vowed to present pro-government news and disseminate correct and truthful information about the police.
Col. Tuliao cited the PaMaMariSan-Rizal Press Corps, PIMAI News, Sci Tech News and DZBB, among others.
Tuliao said that the meet and greet with the EPD media and bloggers was aimed to see the new officers in the EPD and was patterned after that of NCRPO meet and greet with Maj. Gen. Sidney S. Hernia.
He added that the LERIS was also launched, which is an app-based reporting system, for faster response to crime, health emergency, and fire incident.
Not only police visibility, but health emergency, and fire incident rresponse will be quickly responded to in the areas of jurisdiction of the EPD.
According to Tuliao, the EPD will deploy 2,000 personnel in 14 cemeteries, 9 columbariums and areas of convergence such as transport terminals where people gather to go home to their provinces during the “Undas”.
He added that the PNP is an apolitical organization with the upcoming 2025 midterm national and local elections such that those personnel with relatives who are running in the election will be assigned to other areas of jurisdiction.
