QUEZON CITY — PDP-Laban senatorial candidate Atty. Raul Lambino on Monday (April 21) cried political harrasment on the NBI complaint in connection with the alleged fake news about a Supreme Court TRO linked to the arrest of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The NBI complaint filed on April 15, 2025 accuses Atty. Lambino and Cong. Ronald Cardema of spreading false claims about a Supreme Court TRO stopping the arrest of former president Duterte.
In a press conference at Kamuning Bakery Cafe hosted by Rod Cornejo, Atty. Lambino said that he was expecting what the government was doing which was one of the factors to be considered that “you will be destroyed with such kind of demolition.”
On the alleged unlawful use of platform, Lambino said that as of today he has not yet received a copy of the complaint filed by the NBI with the DOJ.
He asked the NBI to send the complaint in his address in 141 Barangay Bunlag, Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
Lambino stressed that once he receives the NBI complaint, he would answer point by point the allegations against him.
According to him, the reason why they went to the SC was to know whether or not the information about such a TRO from the SC stopping the arrest of the former president was true.
Lambino is still waiting for the show cause order from the SC and he has the draft of his answer and once he receives such order from the SC he would immediately reply.
“It’s an information that I have heard that’s the reason I went to the SC to verify if there is such a TRO. I don’t see any wrong to go to the SC and verify if such a TRO was issued,” Lambino said.
“In the show cause order of the SC, you have to determine whether violations were committed, you have to face the penalty for demeanor or misdemeanor that may been been committed,” he added.
Lambino believed that when the information came to them, it was true.
“Maybe, I don’t look good to their view,” Lambino said, adding that it’s only the Constitution in the world that says that the health of the president is a national issue.
“I think the President should really be honest to tell the truth. But there’s no government official who attests to the real good health condition of the President,” Lambino said.
He was the first to raise the issue that there was a Constitutional ground to determine the real health condition of the President.
Lambino cited the alleged “bleeding gums” of the President.
“Eh kung bindi siya healthy — physically or mentally — that would be worrisome,” he said.
“Ang biggest national security threat now is the CPP- NPA-NDF terrorist group and there is a big possibility that they will be granted amnesty despite the thousands who have been killed in the decades old insurgency,” Lambino said.
Lambino was also vocal on the “high inflation” and the only thing that is decreasing now is the “trust rating” of the President.
At 67 years old, Lambino recalled that then President Fidel V. Ramos during his time, underwent major operation to arrest the “hanging stroke”.
He also cited the “osteoporosis” of then President Arroyo during her time. ###
