QUEZON CITY — Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte on Tuesday (Oct. 1) filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for Mayor in the May 12, 2025 national and local elections.
Once re-elected, it will be her third and last term as City Chief Executive.
Belmonte arrived at the Amoranto Stadium at 12:30 pm to the cheers of her thousands of supporters in the streets leading to the venue of the filing of the COC.
Former House Speaker Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte, Jr., the father of Mayor Belmonte, earlier arrived at the Amoranto Stadium.
Mayor Belmonte and Vice Mayor Gian Carlo Sotto simultaneously filed their respective COC.
The immediate family of Mayor Belmonte and the immediate family of Vice Mayor Sotto, including former Senate President Tito Sotto, were all present during the filing of the COC.
Both Mayor Belmonte and Vice Mayor Sotto signed in the Commitment Board for the conduct of an honest, orderly and peaceful May 2025 elections.
Quezon City Rep. (1st District) Arjo Atayde as well as all the aspirants in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and raised their hands with the Mayor and Vice Mayor.
All the aspirants in the Congressional and City Council for Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 raised their hands with Mayor Belmonte and Vice Mayor Sotto.
Among the aspirants are Councilors Franz Pumaren, Aiko Melendez, and Enzo Pineda.
