QUEZON CITY — Former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson on Frida (Nov. 14) said that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. should step down before Nov. 16 or face the wrath of the Filipino people.
At The Agenda Media Forum, Gov. Singson said “I don’t know” was his reaction on the press conference of President Marcos.
Singson and his father are contractors themselves but they never touched on billion pesos worth of infrastructure projects of the government.
He cited that the Discaya construction company had flood control projects in Ilocos Norte worth P10 billion pesos.
Out of the hundreds of ghost projects, only four were visited and inspected by the UCI.
Singson sees that PBBM was just calming the people with his presscon yesterday morning.
He said that the masterminds should be held accountable and not the contractors.
Singson stressed that PBBM made it appear that he is the good one.
The former governor said that the country is now shameful in the international community for as long as Graft and corruption is not eliminated in the Philippines.
Singson urged that the masterminds in the anomalous flood control projects should be charged and detained.
He stressed that the trolls are now his enemies who are all being paid.
“No amount of trolls can stop me,” Singson said.
“I’d rather die for my country than throw it out,” he added.
Singson shrugged off the alleged destabilization, citing Romeo Poquiz, Polly De Leon, Michael Defensor, Chavit Singson, Pulong Duterte, VP Sara Duterte as the people behind it.
Kulang to. President Marcos is included in the destabilization himself.
“It’s impossible that we are destabilizers as I had not met the others for a long time ago and I even never met VP Sara and Pulong Duterte for a long time,” Singson said.
“I don’t now of anyone who may replace PBBM as President because of the huge problem of the country,” Singson said.
Singson cited that President Marcos appeared unknowlegeable about his cousin former House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
He believes that the Supreme Court may temporarily take the helm of the presidency once President Marcos steps down.
Singson advised PBBM to honorably step down now rather than wait for the wrath of the Filipino people.
He assured that he would not instigate a destabiiization to oust the government, but he vouched for a peaceful rally.
Singson noted that the witnesses were threatened and even detained such as contractor Curlee Discaya.
“President Marcos should face the Filipino people,” he said.
Singson dared his nemesis to kill him, detain him, noting that the Filipinos, especialy the real Ilocanos would not take it sitting down.
He cited for an instance that in Japan, he was in the presidential table, but President Marcos did not acknowledge his presence.
Singson expounded that the greatest blunder of President Marcos was in surrendering former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, The Netherlands to face the crimes against humanity charges allegedly committed during the war on drugs during his presidency.
He said that President Duterte should be brought back home here instead and face the trial here.
Singson also cited that the former President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Sr. was termed as the greatest robber in history.
“If the government will investigate, it will not be solved because they are the problem,” Singson said.
Singson was wondering on the pronouncements of his friend Mon Tulfo on the alleged destabilization against the administration.
He said that he would only believe in the government if they will jail the masterminds in the anomalous flood control projects in government.
“Adding insult to injury” was the reaction of Singson on the visit and inspection by the ICI on the four out of the less than 200 flood control projects in Ilocos Norte.
“Don’t give up. Be brave,” was the advise of Singson to the youth as their future is at stake with what is happening in the country today.
Singson had been in politics for the longest time. He expressed the belief that more than a million Filipino people will join the peaceful rally on Nov. 16-18.
He urged President Marcos to have mercy to the Filipino people.
“Nobody is perfect. Mr. President, you have done wrong. Before Nov. 16, my humble suggestion is for you is to resign,” Singson said. ###
