PASIG CITY — With 47,249 registered voters for today’s (May 12) national and local elections (NLE), Nagpayong Elementary School in Barangay Pinagbuhatan is the largest polling center in the Philippines.
Pasig has 30 “drug-cleared” barangays.
Rivals for city mayor are reelectionist Mayor Vico Sotto, 35, and bachelor, and Businesswoman-philanthropist, Ate Sarah Discaya, 49, and mother.
Sotto is the son of actor Vic Sotto and actress Coney Reyes.
Discaya is the wife of Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II, President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor and Development Corporation (SGC). Ate Sarah is the Chief Financial Officer of SGC. They have four children.
Sotto is running for his third and last term as Pasig Mayor and it’s Discaya’s first run in local politics.
With the “Giting ng Pasig”, Sotto’s platform of government is good governance, anti-corruption, and the PhP9.6-billion new Pasig City Hall building.
With the “Team Kaya This”, Discaya’s platform of government is Smart and Connected City, and the PhP2.7-billion new Pasig City Hall building, new hospital, new schools, and other infrastructure projects equivalent to PhP8.7 billion. ###
