PASIG CITY – The City of Pasig is generally peaceful if it will be compared to other cities in the Eastern Police District (EPD).
During the Kapihan sa Metro East Media Forum organized by the PaMaMariSan-Rizal Press Corps Rizal and supported by the Pinoy Ako Advocacy Group, Police Capt. Chris Yanga, Chief of Station Patrol Division of Pasig City Police, said that the peace and order situation in Pasig is generally peaceful.
“In fact, based on our records 185 drugs cases, 72.12 is the crime clearance efficiency where the incidents were cleared and filed in court and solved cases, hence the cases were solved crime solution efficiency is 99.86 percent,” Yanga said.
“On Police operations, the crime prevention program, we strictly implement the existing city ordinances such as on half-naked, anti-smoking ban and the OVR cited tickets for violators. Oplan Sita and checkpoints were intensified not only on motorbikes, but on four-wheel vehicles, where they were issued tickets,” he added.
From Jan. to Oct. 2024, 25,440 within Pasig cited violation tickes, Oplan BaLAK IN open spaces, and Oplan Galugad were places not accessed by mobile, the situation of the citizenry is monitored.
In the same period, 9 search warrants were served, 637 warrants of arrest were erved not only those that happened in Pasig. Seized 35 bladed weapons, 265 vehicles were impounded.
For crime prevention program, from the leadership of Eastern Police District Director Police Col. Villamor Q. Tuliao, we established joint targeted visibility were enhanced where posts were put up together with BFP with firetruck, ambulance located in Unimart along Shaw Blvd., Ortigas Avenue in Ortigas Center and ITI and other posts IPI and Philgas Station in Barangay Bagong Ilog along Shaw Blvd., Plaza Rizal infront of the Cathedral, with fire volunteers and
Under Col. Hendrix Mangaldan, police guarding 24/7 in densely populated places for the quick response and enhanced police visibility in Pasig.
Police operations were also enhanced to counter illegal drugs and illegal gambling. Only four barangays, out of 30 barangays of Pasig are still “on process’ to be cleared. 26 barangays have already been “drug-cleared”. On process such that the four barangays still have to comply with other requirements.
On carnapping, it is not that serious in Pasig.
On anti-illegal drugs, we have conducted 537 operations which resulted in the arrest of 765 persons, all of whom were alive and did not fight it out with the police and may be resisted only. confIscated 3,631 grams of shabu and 332.84 grams of marijuana with a total street value of PHP21,536,692 from January to October 2024.
The so-called “shabu tiangge” has already been cleared.
No gambling in the so-called “peryahan”, with permit from the City Hall.
“On Barangay Drug Clearing Operations since October, we have achieved 100 percent meaning that all 30 barangays in Pasig City have already been drug-cleared,” Yanga said.
“Our coordination with the barangays and informants are still continuing. The information provided to us are being verified and validated. We have continuous validation and verification,” he added.
Yanga said “Pasig City is ‘Pro Life’ in the sense that it is generally peaceful compared to other cities in the Eastern Police District. We are generally peaceful.”
“We have the patrol posts which were placed in strategic and populated places where people converge such as in malls, in streets and the police can be easily approached,” he added.
The nearest patroller can immediately respond to any report of crime in the area of jurisdiction of the EPD.
Police visibility and police presence are intensified during the Holiday Season so that police patrollers can easily be approached.
“The prevention of crime is not only the job of the police, we also need the help of individuals, such as the force multipliers which is very effective and very helpful,” Yanga said.
