PASIG CITY — The Pasig City Police is proud to announce that the city has already been declared as “drug-cleared”.
Pasig City Police Chief Sr. Supt. Hendrix C. Mangaldan on Friday (Jan. 3) said that today’s event is a momentous time in the history of Pasig poiice which is a pilot project of the Pasig Police Force.
Sr. Supt. Mangaldan has earlier replaced Sr. Supt. Celerino Sacro, Jr. as he Pasig City Police Chief.
In a “Meet and Greet” with the partners from the Pasig City Media Group, Sr. Supt. Mangaldan said that in his three months in office since September 2024, Mangaldan has personally witnessed the active involvement of the media in the dissemination of accurate and reliable news and information from the Pasig Police.
In a press conference, Mangaldan cited the priorities of the Pasig City Police as crime prevention, crime solution and the improvement of public service by the Pasig Police.
He stressed that in 2024, most wanted persons and other suspects were arrested and investigated cases within a period of 24 hours.
“We are continually delivering public service to the people of Pasig,” he said.
“There’s no existing drug group in Pasig and we have not seized any big amount of drugs in the city, ” he added.
On the issue of drug cases, Mangaldan boasted that Pasig City has already been declared as “drug-cleared”.
He expounded that the Pasig City Police is ready to provide security for the conduct of an orderly and peaceful national and local elections on May 12, 2025.
“The Pasig Police Force is always maintaining its neutrality and implementing maximum tolerance,” Mangaldan said.
For his part, Sr. Supt. Sacro, Jr. noted that they forgot to invite the members of the media during the turn-over of command to Sr. Supt. Mangaldan because they were busy with the custody of Pastor Quiboloy.
Sacro thanked Mangaldan for continuing to recognize the important role of the media in the dissemination of accurate news.
Among others, also present were Deputy EPD District Director Sr. Supt. Celerino Sacro, Jr., PIO Chief Capt.Jean Aguada and the sub-station commanders of stations 1 to 10.
Sacro read the message of EPD Acting District Director Sr. Supt. Villamor Q. Villamor, who cited the dangerous career of journalists as “purveyors of truth”.
Villamor assured that the EPD will extend its full support to the media as soon as they need it.
