QUEZON CITY — Martin Penaflor, one of the founders and president/CEO of Tangere Acquisition, Apps, Inc. (Tangere) on Monday (Jan. 20) divulged the results of the 2025 pre-election senatorial preferential survey.
In a press conference, Penaflor said that the survey was conducted from Jan. 8-11, 2025.
“A survey is the sentiments of the people in a given period of time,” Penaflor said.
They started their business in 2018 and their survey is non-commissioned and the cost of the survey starts at P100,000 for the more than 100 micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) clients .
A stratefied random survey means that it has demography such as 12% in NCR, 23% in Mindanao, Visayas with 20%, Southern Tagalog with 22%, and Northern Central Luzon with 23%, with 1.96% margin of error from nationwide registered voters of 2,400 respondents.
The respondents were 18-25 years old up to 50 years old and up, 51 and up were 14%,
Rep. Erwin Tulfo with 58% in January 2025 from December 2024’s 63.13%, Sen. Bong Go with 50.96% from 49.5%, Ben Tulfo with 49.5% from 51%, Tito Sotto with 48% from 50.5 %, Manny Pacquiao with 45% from 42%, Sen. Pia Cayetano with 43.17% from 42.17%, Benhur Abalos with 36% from 34.5%, Sen. Bong Revilla with 35.5% from 34.33%, Sen. Tol Tolentino with 34.5% from 31.08%, Sen. Lito Lapid with 34.21% from 32.17%, Ping Lacson with 32% from 41.54%, and Sen. Imee Marcos with 31.67% from 30.83 %.
The number 13-26 top senatorial candidates with more than 14% at the top 23 ranging from 11-16 ranking.
The difference between Abalos and Lacson was only 4%.
Dr. Willie Ong and comedian Willie Revillame were both high in social media presence. Doc Willie Ong was low in the Visayas and he is not known in the far-flung areas of the country.
Dr. Willie Ong is popular in the social media, but the common tao do not seem to know him.
Revillame is popular as a comedian and TV celebrity but most Filipinos do not know that he was running for Senator.
Arlene Brosas and Eric Martinez got higher voter preference as only nine bets were selected by the voters and only 23% of the voters selected 12 candidates.
Both Brosas with numerous billboards and Agap Party-List Rep. Wilbert Lee, however, had 95% to 97% less in voter awareness.
The drivers of the votes of Erwin Tufo were from 18-25 years old.
42 years old and above was the voter reference for Bong Go from Class A, B, C and D.
Erwin and Ben Tulfo and Manny Pacquiao had low voter preference from the male voters.
36 years old and up preferred Willie Revillame but he was also high in Mindanao.
Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan were both high in TikTok.
The satisfaction and trust rating of Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero decreased because of the issues on education, labor and employment, and food security.
Hindi corrupt, matapat/mapagkakatiwalaan/may integridad (not corrupt/trustworthy/with integrity) were the traits opted by the voters
Facebook, television and radio were the source of information.
The survey questions were in Tagalog.
The increase in awareness of Benhur Abalos was the main driver in the voter preference for him.
Camille Villar had 27.54% from 26.25% and it was reported that both Villar, Tolentino, Abalos and Luis Chavit Singson were the biggest spenders in terms of TV exposure.
The survey was conducted when Chavit Singson had not yet withdrawn his candidacy.
With the withdrawal of Singson, the voter reference shifted in favor of Imee Marcos, who is the sister of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr., who had the biggest votes at more than 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections.
Cavitenos Revilla, Tolentino and Lacson were selected by only 20% of Caviteno voters.
There was a time that Sagip Party-List Rep. Rodante Marcoleta was in the top 12 senatorial candidates during which time he was defending Vice President Sara Duterte.
The Iglesia Ni Cristo national rally for peace held on Jan. 13, 2025 which garnered about 1.8 million people, was not factored in in favor of Marcoleta.
Senator Bato Dela Rosa was only high in Mindanao but low in Northern Central Luzon and NCR.
However, before the issue in the ICC (International Criminal Court) came out, Dela Rosa was in the 8-9 ranking in the senatorial candidates preference.
Tito Sotto had no social media exposure or engagement and he was only relying on Eat Bulaga for his exposure.
Sen. Pia Cayetano is low in male voters preference and has no social media page.
The awareness on Senator Lito Lapid was still increasing because of “Batang Quiapo” and he has no social media presence.
Atty. Jimmy Bondoc is a good lawyer, who was a former PAGCOR executive, but many Filipinos do not seem to know that he is a good lawyer.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy only had 4% voter preference and the alleged millions of his followers “do not seem to translate into votes”.
