TAYTAY, Rizal — Police Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalvo, police provincial director, said that they are gearing up for the Undas 2025, particularly from Oct. 28 to Nov. 3.
In a press conference, Col. Gonzalvo said that the security preparations of the Rizal provincial office is now being intensified.
Col. Gonzalvo added that there are 83 cemeteries in the entire province of Rizal, 26 of which are public cemeteries and 47 are private cemeteries, including 7 columbariums.
Gonzalvo noted that there are around 400,000 individuals who are expected to visit the cemeteries from Oct. 28 to Nov 3.
He added that more than 2,340 PNP personnel will be deployed, including 300 in Taytay, 369 personnel in Antipolo City, and 182 in Angono, among others.
Under the operational guidelines, Gonzalvo said, police assistance desks and quick response teams will be established to ensure order and safety of the public.
“Bladed weapons, liquors, firearms and loud systems are prohibited in cemeteries,” Gonzalvo said.
Gonzalvo stressed that starting Oct. 28 they will be deploying PNP personnel, including force multipliers.
He added that personnel will be announcing the prohibition on bladed weapons, liquors, firearms and loud systems.
“Considering that the Rizal PNP has limited resources for body cameras, cellphones can be used as recording devices by PNP personnel in the province,” Gonzalvo said.
He added that they will not allow the criminals to have the opportunity to attack and conduct their nefarious activities during the observance of Undas.
Gonzalvo stressed that during their meeting with the PDRRMO, the contingency plan if an earthquake or any natural calamity occurs, was also taken into consideration so that quick response will be operationaized and emergency action will be effected.
On overnight accomplishments from 6am-6am from Oct. 22-23, Gonzalvo said that successful operations resulted in the confiscation of P1,060,664, 155.8 grams of shabu were seized, in 12 drug operations, and 12 high profile drug personalities were arrested .
In San Mateo Rizal, 77.6 grams of shabu were seized worth P516,000 as a result of intensified operations against illegal drugs.
Also confiscated were Improvised caliber, caliber 22 long improvised and caliber 22 short improvised.
There were 11 operations against wanted criminals which resulted in the arrest of 11 persons.
Gonzalvo stressed that more than P1 million worth of shabu were seized, 27 persons were arrested and 3 firearms were confiscated. ###
