PASIG CITY — Losing mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya on Tuesday (May 13) thanked Pasiguenos for their support in the just concluded midterm elections.
“Every day we are with you, I feel your support, trust, and love. You are the reason why Ate Sarah was more known — not just as a candidate, but as a person with a heart willing to serve,” Discaya said.
Discaya, a businesswoman-philanthropist, has said that win or lose, they will continue helping Pasiguenos, who are less fortunate in life.
Discaya added that although they were not lucky with the election results, they know that they were not truly defeated.
” We’re still winning — because in the midst of the battle, we’ve met more true friends. We helped more people. Our bond with each other just grew deeper,” she said.
The SGC Charity Foundation will continue their charity works and medical missions nationwide.
“We win because we have fulfilled the most important goal: to serve to the best of our ability,” she added.
Discaya, the Chief Financial Officer of the St Gerrard Construction General Contractor and Development Corporation (SGC), has 10,000 employees, who are 100% Pasiguenos.
“And in our hearts, it’s enough to see something changed, something lightened, something happy — because that’s where we feel true success,” Discaya said.
The SGC Charity Foundation has assisted 58,000 Pasiguenos and people elsewhere.
“Don’t need a position to help. Don’t have to win to move on. Because service doesn’t end in a campaign — it continues, while there is opportunity, while there is a need,” Discaya said.
“So even if the election is over, the fight is not over. We’re still here — will continue to serve, will continue to share, and will continue to be the voice of goodness for every Pasigueño,” she added.
“Thank you very much for your trust.
The right time will come. And in that time — in God’s perfect timing — He will use every experience, every defeat, and every trial, for a victory that is deeper, more meaningful, and more blessed,” Discaya said.
“Until next time, we are still together.
Unite. Work together. Love one another.
From our hearts — thank you,” she ended. ###
