PASIG CITY — The wife of a man who rose from rags to riches has finally gave in to the voice of the people of Pasig City that is to bring about a true kind of public service that Pasiguenos have been longing for.

Ate Sarah Discaya in an ambush interview during the medical mission at Barangay San Miguel declared that she will definitely seek the local chief executive post in the city.

“Actually, I’ve been avoiding this question for a long time pero since filing is fast approaching naman, madami na ang nag eencourage or nagsasabi na baka pwede kaming tumakbo. Siguro this is the right time to say na oo we will be running for public office,” Ate Sara said.

The filing of the certificate of candidacy for the May 12, 2025 midterm national and local elections will be on Oct. 1-8, 2024.

“Why? Sasabihin nyo may negosyo naman kami, sapat na yung kinikita namin. Yes may missing pa sa amin siguro is to help others,” Discaya said.

Sarah Discaya is the Chief Financial Officer of St. Gerrard Construction and Development Corporation (SGC), which is one of the only 41 “4A (Quadruple A)” construction companies in the Philippines.

“May mga questions pa na oh pag upo nyan sa laki ng ginastos nyan baka pabalik

wala na kaming hihingin pa. We are so blessed. We have lots of projects outside of Pasig na nagpa-pacify sa amin,” Discaya said.

It is estimated that the SGC Charity Foundation has been extending financial assistance of P1 million per month since September 2023.

“Actually yan yung kinukwwento ko sa inyo last time na everytime may medical mission kami after nakakasingil which is higit pa sa nagastos namin sa medical mission,” she added.

The SGC Charity Foundation has been extending financial assistance and medical mission not only to Pasiguenos but also to indigents outside of the city.

“So yung babawiin ay hindi ba pwedeng maglingkod na kailangan mangurakot ka or is that the perception that keep planted sa atin, hindi ganon,” Discaya said.

The SGC Charity Foundation is determined to provide financial assistance and extend medical mission in the 30 Barangays of Pasig City, some of which are reportedly requesting for a second round of medical mission.

“Ours is true service para sa mga Pasigueño. Ang dami namin nakita na medyo may pagkukulang which is through medical mission sa ngayon ay yan yung kaya namin punuin sa ngayon,” she added.

Ate Sarah is married to Kuya Curlee Discaya, a businessman philanthropist, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the SGC Construction and Development Corporation.
