CAINTA — Senatorial aspirant former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Manong Chavit” Crisologo Singson on Saturday (Nov. 30) revealed his three projects for the benefit of thousands of Filipino drivers nationwide.
In an ambush interview at the sidelines of the “Sumbingkit Festival”, Singson said that he joined the float parade because
he wanted the Cavitenos to feel that he is one of them as a Filipino.
Singson said he will finance for the e-trikes, motorcycles and e-jeepneys for all drivers nationwide, with no downpayment and zero interest, even if he would not profit even a single centavo from it.
The senatorial aspirant also announced his VBank project, which is for free, for the welfare of the vulnerable sectors of the Philippine society such as the senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disability (PWDs).
The VBank debit/credit card will be launched on Dec. 10, 2024.
One applicant only needs to download the VBank app, fill up the form and submit online.
He likewise cited the “Chavit 500” project, which is a form of social pension program for the vulnerable sector as well.
Singson said that all qualified Filipinos aged 18 and above will be given P500 a month for as long as they live.
“Handa akong malugi basta panalo ang Filipino,” he said.
He cited the Miss Universe pageant which he financed but he did not earn anything from it.
Singson had been the President of the Governors League of the Philippines (Governors League) and the City Councilors League of the Philippines (City Councilors League), both of which, are under the umbrella of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP).
As Governors League President, Singson left behind the amount of P100 million and another P40 million as City Councilors League President.
It can be recalled that during the time that Singson was Ilocos Sur Governor, the province became the fifth richest in the country from being one of the 10 poorest provinces in the Philippines.
He also made Ilocos Sur as one of the most peaceful provinces in the country recording low crime incidents when he was the Governor.
