PASIG CITY — St. Gerrard Charity Foundation is helping anyone and everyone in Pasig and elsewhere who are asking for help.
During the Kapihan sa Metro East Media Forum organized by PaMaMariSan-Rizal Press Corps and supported by Pinoy Ako advocacy group on Wednesday (July 31), Cezarah Discaya, Chief Financial Officer of St. Gerrard Charity Foundation, said that the trials and hardship where they went through emboldened them to have
medical mission as their advocacy.
Ate Sarah of Pasig, who is popular on social media, said kaya pinili ang medical advocacy dahil dati wala silang nagawa nang mamatay ang kanilang kapatid sa sakit kung saan apat silang magkakapatid.
Kaya nagkaroon kami ng medical mission supposed to be last year ilaunch because it’s not really that easy to put it up.
Gerrard Charity Foundation na properly registered with the regulatory bodies.
Atty. Sia was involved in the impeachment case of then President Joseph Erap Ejercito.
Quadruple A category ang kanilang company, meaning marami silang mga government projects and its comparable with DMCI which can build huge projects.
There are only 41 Quadruple A companies in the whole Philippines.
“The more you share the more blessings na dumarating sa amin,” Mrs. Discaya said.
Nagsimula sa Zamboanga City ng charity missions and why not help other people who are not from Pasig.
It’s a foregoing issue na may connection daw sila sa mga Eusebio. Hindi po sa mga Eusebios. Amin po talaga ang St.Gerrard Corporation and it was named after their son.
Mrs. Discaya said that it just so happened St. Gerrard is a good company.
There is no concrete evidence to connect the Eusebios with St. Gerrard.
Out of the 30 Pasig barangays, nine barangays have already been served by St. Gerrard Charity Foundation.
Atty. Ian Sia said “Kung public figures, they are subjected to public criticisms.”
He cited for an instance the case of Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile was part of history and therefore it cannot be considered as libel if the same is mentioned.
Subjudice rule cannot be discussed when the case is already filed in court.
Lahat tayo pag nakasuhan tayo ay mayroong tinatawag na Constitutional presumption of innocence.
Conflict of interest is the only situation where a lawyer can refuse to handle a case.
There was no reason to blacklist St Gerrard if indeed it was owned by the Eusebios.
As a former city councilor himself, Atty. Sia said that healthcare service is lagging behind in the city, adding that, the P9.6 billion based on his research, the initial cost of Senate building is P8. 2 billion which means that the proposed Pasig City Hall complex is very expensive compared with that of the Senate and which is the Third Branch of government.
Atty. Sia said that if all the problems of Pasig is solved, that is the time that we dream of a new Pasig City hall.
If Makati City can afford to provide for all the basic necessities of its constituents, all the more that Pasig City can also do the same.
In 2010, Atty Sia said the budget was at P6.3 billion with a stead growth of population. Now, Pasig City has a budget of P17 billion almost triple where we can run three city halls.
Education, health sector, informal settlers are the paramount considerations of Atty. Sia.
Atty. Sia could not see any logic in the construction of the P9.6 billion Pasig City Hall complex despite the prevailing problems in the city. The PaMaMariSan-Rizal Press Corps is composed of The Daily Tribune, Abante, Pilipino Mirror, Noonbreak Balita, DZRJ, SDN, Malaya Business Insight, Mabuhay
