MANILA — Task Force Kasanag Chairperson Dr. John Chiong on Tuesday (Nov. 19)endorsed Atty. Jayvee Hinlo for Senator in the May 12, 2025 national elections.

In an interview, Atty. Hinlo said that he is very thankful for the endorsement of Chairman Chiong and the members of Task Force Kasanag. 

Hinlo noted that for 15 years the Task Force Kasanag.has been fighting against corruption and advocating for peace and prosperity. 

He said that Task Force Kasanag is non-partisan and it’s only the first time that they made an endorsement in the national elections. 

He said that he will fight corruption by amending the Data Privacy Law and the Bank Secrecy Law in application to public officials.

According to Chairman Chiong, the Task Force Kasanag has been involved in Anti-Corruption Corruption advocacy for 15 years now.

Chiong said that they are endorsing only one candidate for Senator and that is Atty. Jayvee Hinlo and they not supporting anybody else.

Hinlo said that he would also like the Task Force Kasanag to be involved in anti-poverty advocacy.

The administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr.is targeting to lower the rate of poverty to 9 percent by the end of his term in 2028.

Hinlo, a former Undersecretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, expressed his profound gratitude to Chairperson Chiong and former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for endorsing his Candidacy for Senator in the May 12, 2025 national elections.

Hinlo, a former Member of the Board of Directors of Landbank, said that he would push for State-sponsored farming to generate more jobs to end poverty.

He is also proposing that the government provide more livelihood and employment opportunities to Filipinos in order to prevent the commission of crime due to poverty.
