PASIG CITY — Think tank Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute (ACPSSI) on Friday (Feb. 14) categorically said that the United States is the root cause of chaos, impeachment, economic mess, spy scares in the Philippines.
During the ACPSSI Media Forum, it was tackled that the Typhon Missile system was removed from Laoag City, Ilocos Norte which was the relocation of the typhon missile system from Laoag International Airport upon the assumption into office of US President Donald Trump.
ACPSSI President Herman “Ka Mentong” Tiu Laurel delved into the information war against the cognitive disinformation war of the US.
Laurel cited the US proxy war in the US Congress
He said that the ACPSSI has been under massive attack by the US proxy war
In one classic case in the Philippines, in the internews about the ACPSSI in the Philippine Star influence operations push Philippines as ‘Ukraine of Asia’.
ACPSSI President Herman “Ka Mentong” Tiu Laurel quoted President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. as saying: “Alam natin ang giyera masama sa buhay ng isang katauhan at ng Pilipino. Etong ilang araw na mga nakaraan… ”
In its August 12, 2024 Internews (Internews in the Philippines), the
Initiative for Media Freedom (IMF) was cited.
This five-year USAID- funded project supports and advances media capacity and independence to enhance democratic governance that provides economic and political inclusion and promotes social stability.
Internews is implementing the Initiative for Media Freedom (IMF).
Laurel cited the Musk takes on NED, Washington’s ‘Regime Change Machine’. The US Endowment for Democracy is still funding the Regime Change such as P35 million for CMFR (Center for Media Freedom and Democracy), P25 million for PCIJ (Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism) of Malou Mangahas and company, P6.5 million to Vera Files and P7.5 million to Rappler, among others.
The West Philippine Sea narrative has been funded with P350 million in the Hague, the Netherlands where the International Arbitral Tribunal litigates international territorial disputes. Atty. Paul Reicher and the then Ambassador Albert del Rosario sought for the arbitral ruling in the territorial dispute over the South China Sea.
Laurel said that the Peoples’ War Congress in Cebu City should be held again in the future.
US: Root Cause of PH Chaos, Impeachment, Economic Mess, Spy Scares
ACPSSI Vice President Ado Paglinawan discussed “The Golden Age of Sleuthing in the Philippines”.
Paglinawan termed as “man-made catastrophe” the “blunder” allegedly committed by the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
He was referring to the recent arrest of an alleged Chinese spy who purportedly conducted surveillance and mapping of sensitive places.
The family of the suspect denied the allegations during a press conference in Kamuning Bakery Cafe.
Is there any barangay or city in the country where the Philippine National Police (PNP) is capable of controlling? Paglinawan asked.
Philippine Enhanced Defense is US Agile Combat Employment (ACE) where ACE to succeed, two unlikely conditions must be met, which for Paglinawan is “a dud”.
He cited the deployment of 3,000 police personnel to implement the arrest order against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, which for Paglinawan, was an abuse of power that never happened during the Martial Law.
He surmised that such huge deployment of police personnel should have been used in the serving of warrant of arrest against Marwan which resulted in the death of 44 SAF (Special Action Force) personnel of the PNP.
The ACPSSI vice president noted that as of Jan. 15, 2025, the birth records of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo remain valid as far as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is concerned.
Guo has earlier declared in public fora that she is a Filipino and she is not a spy.
Paglinawan stressed that the government should be sensitive enough when it comes to incidents of espionage such that the government seems to have not reacted when an airplane involved in surveillance
crashed on Philippine soil.
According to the ACPSSI executives, the Philippines cannot use the Arbitral ruling over the territorial dispute in the South China Sea.
“We have seen much of the 35-year domination of the oligarchy,” Laurel said.
“We are also fighting the mainstream media — major broadcast networks. They are purveyors of fake news,” he added.
Paglinawan elaborated Article 117 of the Revised Penal Code and the laws against espionage such that nothing happened to detained suspects and their rights are being violated.
He said that the “mapping” of the suspect in the espionage case is also available in the Waze app.
“They are weaponizing the government to demonize the dissenters,” Paglinawan said.
He added that charges must be filed within the period prescribed by law and if the staff of the Chinese Embassy in Manila were even denied access to the detained Chinese suspect, “You’re worse than Martial Law.”
Sass Rogando Sasot, via zoom, cited that Burkina Faso, a country in West Africa, is now producing its own electric vehicles.
“We should be talking about development, food security. Fighting corruption is also the job of the military. It’s time to wake up, especially the middle class,” Sasot said.
