MEYCAUAYAN CITY, Bulacan — The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) is urging motorists to register under the One RFID system for faster and more convenient travel during the Undas break.
Led by the Department of Transportation (DOTR) through the TRB, in partnership with the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation’s (MPTC) EasyTrip and San Miguel Corporation Infrastructure’s Autosweep, the initiative allows motorists to use a single RFID account across major expressways operated by tollway firms.

Those using Easy Trip RFID are Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX), NLEX Connector Road, Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX). Meanwhile, those using Autosweep RFID include the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Metro Manila Skyway, NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), and Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway.
With this collaboration between the government and the private sector, motorists can register in three easy steps: opt in online and select a preferred service provider, remove the unchosen RFID sticker at an authorized service center, and load up the chosen account.
To enhance system efficiency, NLEX Corporation is investing ₱200 million in technology upgrades for the 94-kilometer SCTEX, which includes additional CCTV and speed cameras, as well as modernized traffic engineering systems.
According to NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luis Renon, the upgrade program aims to ensure faster, safer, and more reliable travel.
Pavement repairs have been temporarily suspended to accommodate the expected influx of vehicles this Undas.
Meanwhile, MPTC has reactivated its Biyaheng Arangkada program, offering 24/7 traffic management, free towing for Class 1 and Class 1M (CCLEX) vehicles from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3, and real-time traffic updates.
To further ease congestion, NLEX has also regraded shoulder lanes in key sections to allow counterflow operations when necessary.
The DOTr clarified that the unified toll payment scheme is optional and not mandatory. Motorists may enroll in the One RFID system at any time. (MJSC/Shane Frias Velasco/PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
