QUEZON CITY — The grand launching of Multi-Sectoral Movement Advocacy Group called Voice of Individuals of the Philippines for Sustainable Development Development (VIP-SD) was held on Friday (Oct. 10).
The VIP-SD is composed of various advocacy groups whose leaders and members are committed to unite and organize themselves for the purpose of achieving one primary objective: the attainment of sustainable peace and development in the country.
During the Pandesal Forum in Kamuning Bakery Cafe hosted by Rod Cornejo, Dang Imperial Mangalino, President and Board Member of VIP-SD, acknowledged their leaders from Caloocan City, former Director Wendell Cabrera, Rey Junio, and Dr. Ronald L. Adamat.
“The VIP-SD is more than an advocacy. It has become a mission and a vision,” Mangalino said.
“As President, I’m honored to lead this movement, with Dr. Adamat,” she added.
“We believe that sustainable development will not thrive with corruption,” Mangalino said.
She expressed her gratitude to all the members and leaders of their movement who stood with them.
Dr. Ronald L. Adamat, Founding Chairman of VIP-SD, acknowledged Mangalino, Wendell Cabrera, Dr. Richard Mata and Rolly Ocampo, Vice President for Luzon; Samuel Ramos, from the transport sector; Junio, Nino Puzon, Bobby Desta, former head of the urban poor at the DILG and representing the urban poor; among others.
Dr. Adamat also acknowledged the important role of the vloggers and the mainstream media in the dissemination of the advocacy of the VIP-SD.
“We are making history at this moment,” Dr. Adamat said.
“It’s my great pride and honor to announce the launching of the VIP-SD,” he added.
“We are here as volunteers to better the Philippines,” Dr. Adamat said.
“I heard from radio that we are now a country of thieves,” he added.
Dr. Adamat asked everyone present if they agree with that, and they replied in the negative.
Dr. Adamat was former ChEd Commissioner and Congressman.
“Meaningful leaders do not deform a nation but reform if for the betterment of the people,” Dr. Adamat said.
“Corruption is the big challenge for this organization,” he added.
“Meanwhile, we strongly condemn the rampant corruption (in trillion pesos on flood control projects) confronting the country involving high officials of the government, DPWH officials and contractors,” Dr. Adamat said.
“Because of this, the Filipino People’s trust has been severely eroded due to government failures especially on accountability by the Marcos, Jr. administration,” he added.
“A leader is one who inspires and motivates the people,” Dr. Adamat said.
“As former Congressman, RA 7941 (Party-List System Act) is a noble law. It should be implemented fully, or according to the true spirit of Party-List representation,” he added.
“Greed for power and Greed for profit are now the two things which seem to prevail,” Dr. Adamat said.
Dr. Mata, one of the senatorial candidates of PDP-Laban, who flew straight from Davao City, said” Vice President Sara is the eagle who will bring about hope to the nation.”
“She (VP Sara) will be the eagle that will eat the crocodiles,” Dr. Mata said.
He added that the Lord may have not yet destined VP Sara to be the Philippine President today as she is being prepared to be the next President.
Cabrera, National President of Kilusang Pagbabago ng Pilipinas (KBP), stressed that the VIP-SD is one of the organizations that will promote and support the brand of leadership of Duterte.
Engr. George Gavino, secretary general of DDS Sara All, said that the Vice President has no political party at all from the beginning.
“We have confederations. We have parallel groups. DDS Sara All because the time of PRRD is over,” he said.
“Hopefully, the VIP-SD will work well. We will collaborate,” he added.
Quezon City District 2 Councilor Ranny Ludovica said that he realized that it is really good to live in the province.
Ludovica was a participant in the EDSA People Power I and EDSA People Power II.
He cited for an example the drug problem in Barangay Batasan in Quezon City, which is the “Little Tondo”, which is also the biggest district in the Philippines.
Ludovica stressed that it is saddening today that bad things are prevailing.
“They are afraid if VP Sara Duterte becomes President because they (corrupt government officials) will be held accountable,” Ludovica said.
He noted that the One Trillion People March last Sept. 21 was well funded and organized by the clergy.
He lamented that there were politicians who allegedly distributed P5,000 each just to dissuade people from joining the Sept. 21 One Trillion People March.
“They (clergy) are angry with Tatay Digong because he exposed the anomaly of the clergy,” Ludovica said.
“The left-leaning also has an anomaly — revolutionary taxes,” he added.
He expressed the hope that the Filipino people will fight the “forces of evil”.
He invited everyone to join the true “People’s Power” on Oct. 12 (Sunday).
“May God make the move to reveal the corruption of this administration,” Ludovica said.
In his video message, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go wished the VIP-SD to inspire more Filipinos, especially the youth, to attain sustainable development.
Operators from Caloocan City and Bulacan were also present.
Ricardo Enverga, one of the Board of Directors of VIP-SD, also attended.
Marysol Pili, Secretary General of VIP-SD, hosted the event. ###
